What is water-base printing ink:

  Water-base printing ink is a uniform paste substance composed of binders, pigments, additives and others.The binder provides the necessary transfer performance of the ink, and the pigment gives the ink its color.The binder of water-base ink is mainly divided into two types: water dilution type and water dispersion type.

  There are many types of resins that can be used in water dilution inks, such as Maleic acid resin, Shellac, Maleic acid resin modified shellac, Urethane, Water-soluble acrylic resin and Water-based amino resin.

  The water dispersion binder is obtained by polymerizing monomers emulsified in water. It is a two-phase system in which the oil phase is dispersed in the water phase in the form of particles. Although it cannot be dissolved by water, but can be diluted by water. It can be considered as an oil-in-water emulsion type.

Comparison of water-base ink and oil-base ink:

Water-base printing ink:

  The ink has stable ink properties and bright colors.The water-base ink is prepared by water-based resin, which can be diluted with water, has very low VOC (volatile organic compound) content, has minimal environmental pollution, does not affect human health, and is not easy to burn.It is environmentally friendly ink.The important thing for water-base inks is good adhesion and water resistance. Generally used in food, medicine, beverage and other industries, packaging and printing industry is also widely used.

Oil-base printing ink:

  Oil-base inks use organic solvents (Toluene, Xylene, Industrial alcohol, etc.) as solvents, but the volatility of solvent will pollute the environment. Oil base ink can be printed on absorbing and non-absorbing surfaces, and the color is not easy to fade after printing. Oil-base inks are characterized by high viscosity, fast drying, water resistance, softness, and light resistance.
